Summer Fun

Where does the time go? The summer is officially over, but we are looking forward to the upcoming months. Here's just a recap of some of the things we did.

Watched some friends tie the knot in Fort Collins

Me and some fellow reservists completed our second Wild West Relay. The race covers 193 miles from Fort Collins to Steamboat Springs. We completed the race under 27 hours and finished 15th out of 122 teams.

The Start - 00:00 Taking a moment to soak up the scenary

The Finish - 26:47 hrs later.
After the race, the team headed to the hot springs to relax those aching leg muscles.

Summer Picnic with the squadron. Yes that mustache is fake, but quite attractive!!

Lake Powell

What a trip! So we met up with some of Rebecca's family from Pittsburgh. Nate flew in from Indiana, with a little help from Rebecca and Jenny. Thirteen people, 1 baby, and 1 dog squeezed in three cars and made a 9 hour journey to Lake Powell, UT. Lake Powell is one of the most naturally majestic places on Earth, as you will see in the pictures. The lake itself is the second largest man-made reservoir in the country and has over 1900 miles of total shoreline. We spent 5 incredible days on the lake with a huge house-boat and power-boat. You know its a great vacation when you wake up each day and have to decide between swimming, tubing, hiking or just drinking on the deck of the boat. I know for sure we will be heading back soon.
